Abstract

This paper produces a set of recommendations on the Kazakhstan’s migration policy that aims the integration of labor immigrants from Central Asia. Therefore it is intended to assist the government of Kazakhstan in dealing with the current issues of immigration. Feasibility of recommendations made is accessed through several policy options. The underlying inference driving this thesis is that current migration policies fail to facilitate proper conditions and create favorable environments for labor migrants to adapt and adhere to the existing legislation framework. Therefore, policy options assessment and results from analysis of primary data in combination with conclusions withdrawn from reviewed literature as a result provide a set of policy recommendations aimed to the government of Kazakhstan, employers, NGOs, intergovernmental organizations and labor migrants.
