  • Toshmatov, Bobir; Rahimov, Ozodbek; Ahmedov, Bobomurat; Malafarina, Daniele (Springer Verlag, 2020-07)
The assumption of asymptotic flatness for isolated astrophysical bodies may be considered an approximation when one considers a cosmological context where a cosmological constant or vacuum energy is present. In this framework ...
  • Narzilloev, Bakhtiyor; Malafarina, Daniele; Abdujabbarov, Ahmadjon; Bambi, Cosimo (Springer Verlag, 2020-08)
We consider a class of space-times given by a stationary extension of the Zipoy–Voorhees metric that was found by Halilsoy. We show that the solutions do not describe rotating sources but must be interpreted, similarly to ...
  • Chakrabarty, Hrishikesh; Abdujabbarov, Ahmadjon; Malafarina, Daniele; Bambi, Cosimo (Springer Verlag, 2020-05)
We present a dynamical toy model for an expanding universe inside a black hole. The model is built by matching a spherically symmetric collapsing matter cloud to an expanding Friedmann–Robertson–Walker universe through a ...
  • Kruszewska, Małgorzata (Nazarbayev University School of Sciences and Humanities, 2021-03)
The second talk of our Spring 2021 speaker series will feature Małgorzata Kruszewska (Instructor, Writing Program), who will discuss “Arts in Times of Crisis: Kazakh Painters Reconnecting; American Actors Regrouping”. ...

The next talk of our Spring 2021 speaker series will feature Funda Guven (Assistant Professor, Department of Kazakh Language and Turkic Studies) and Gulnara Omarbekova (Associate Professor, Department of Kazakh Language ...
  • Valagiannopoulos, Constantinos (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, 2020-07-28)
Filtering of photonic signals of a certain frequency while suppressing all the others of a specific band for both electromagnetic signal polarizations, becomes possible with a single dielectric layer by properly engineering ...

Francisella tularensis subsp. mediasiatica is the least studied among the four F. tularensis subspecies. We present here the genome data of F. tularensis subsp. mediasiatica 240, isolated in the southern region of Kazakhstan.

In this work, we present the draft genome sequence of Komagataeibacter europaeus strain GH1, which is an extremely efficient biocellulose producer.
  • Tulegenov, Dias; Valagiannopoulos, Constantinos (Nature Research, 2020-08-03)
The controllability of photonic setups is strongly related to how coherently their outputs react to changes in their inputs; such a generic concept is treated in the case of films comprising multilayers of tilted optical ...

Goats were initially managed in the Near East approximately 10,000 years ago and spread across Eurasia as economically productive and environmentally resilient herd animals. While the geographic origins of domesticated ...
  • Boshkayev, Kuantay; Luongo, Orlando; Muccino, Marco (EDP Sciences, 2020-10-19)
We investigate neutrino oscillation in the field of an axially symmetric space-time, employing the so-called q-metric, in the context of general relativity. Following the standard approach, we compute the phase shift ...
