Design of “Kannada” art gallery in Los Angeles, California

Abstract

This project work includes designing and constructing the 4 storey art gallery with a basement in Los Angeles, California, at 1201 South Grand Avenue. The necessity to create a modern exhibition space that integrates and enhances the cultural and urban identity of this specific area led to the design of KANNADA Art Gallery in Downtown Los Angeles. The building will be a large span building in a highly-seismic area. The structural and architectural designs will follow the applicable code and specifications of the International Building Code, ASCE-7, and ACI 318-19. Also, the geotechnical design of the project work will entail foundation design and selection of the appropriate footing system. During the construction management, project definition, work breakdown structure, scheduling, cost estimation, risk, quality management, procurement planning, construction safety and construction site planning will be discussed. Additionally, the environmental part will include all relevant information about waste management. Consequently, the building will achieve an integrated approach to the city's construction through innovation and sustainability by adhering to worldwide norms and codes.
