Abstract
This report is a comprehensive design including architectural, structural, geotechnical, environmental, and construction management of a 12-storey hotel, Villa La Vida, proposed in
Santa Clarita, California. The project is developed considering a thorough site analysis and the use of relevant building criteria, such as building standards for seismic, wind, and local soil
conditions. A rectangular reinforced-concrete structural system was selected to achieve efficient load distribution and reliable behavior under earthquake loading, while deep pile foundations were designed in accordance with soil investigations and settlement criteria. Environmental analysis guided the development of stormwater management measures, solid-waste handling strategies, and energy-efficient building systems that support sustainable operation. The resulting design delivers a resilient, functional, and environmentally responsible facility that meets contemporary engineering practice and regulatory expectations for buildings in highly seismic zones.
