Item Open Access Building a global knowledge commons based on the network of open access repositories(Confederation of Open Access Repositories, 2020-10) Shearer, KathleenIn celebration of the 13th International Open Access Week, we are delighted to share with you presentation on "Building a global knowledge commons based on the network of open access repositories" by Kathleen Shearer,Executive Director of COAR (Confederation of Open Access Repositories).Kathleen Shearer has been working in the areas of open access, research data management and digital libraries for many years. Shearer is the Executive Director of COAR (Confederation of Open Access Repositories), an international association of repository initiatives that was launched in October 2009 with membership of over 120 institutions worldwide from 36 countries in 5 continents. COAR has been promoting the role of the institution as the foundation for a sustainable infrastructure that collectively manage the valuable outputs of research.Shearer is also the co-chair of two RDA Interest Groups, Libraries for Research Data and Long Tail of Research Data. Shearer is also a consultant for several other organizations. She is a Research Associate with the Canadian Association of Research Libraries (CARL) and was instrumental in the launch of the Portage Research Data Management Network in Canada. She is also a Strategic Consultant with the US-based Association of Research Libraries (ARL), providing expertise to the Association about international activities and scholarly communication. Shearer has also done extensive work for the Canadian federal government and research funding agencies including a project to develop metrics and indicators framework for open science.Item Open Access Research Data Management and Open Access to Publications and Data(Electronic Information for Libraries, 2020-10) Kuchma, IrynaIn celebration of the 13th International Open Access Week, we are delighted to share with you presentation on "Research Data Management and Open Access to Publications and Data" by Irina Kuchma, Open Access Programme Manager for Electronic Information for Libraries (EIFL). Iryna Kuchma has been managing the EIFL Open Access Programme (EIFL-OA) since 2008. Working in collaboration with libraries and library consortia in more than 60 countries in Africa, Asia and Europe, she advocates for open access to research results, facilitates the development and implementation of open science policies and infrastructures, and provides support and training. An expert in open access, open data and open science, Iryna has published several works (see the full list here), and contributed to recent reports including ‘Fostering Bibliodiversity in Scholarly Communications – A Call for Action!’, ‘Towards Sustainable Cooperative and Non-APC Publishing Models’, ‘Training in the European Open Science Cloud’ and ‘RDA COVID-19 Data Sharing Guidelines and Recommendations’. Under Iryna's management, EIFL-OA’s many achievements include the establishment of more than 1,200 open access repositories and more than 4,000 open access journals in EIFL partner countries, opening up a wealth of new knowledge and research to the world. The programme has also supported the development of 159 institutional and eight national open access policies in EIFL partner countries, and has trained over 275,000 librarians, researchers, policy-makers and open access champions across the EIFL network.Item Open Access Open Access and Web of Science Resources(Clarivate, 2020-10) Sosedova, VarvaraIn celebration of the 13th International Open Access Week, we are delighted to share with you presentation on "Open Access and Web of Science Resources" by Varvara Sosedova, International Expert in Scientometrics of Clarivate company. Varvara Sosedova graduated from Moscow Linguistic University in 2010 and earned a PhD in Philology from Moscow City Pedagogy University in 2015, where she did research into connection between English language and culture. Varvara has a number of publications on linguistics and cultural science based on her PhD research. In 2009 Varvara joined Moscow State University of International Relations (MGIMO) where she is currently working as an English teacher for the faculty of international relations, where she is responsible for Writing&Listening&Reading lessons for freshmen. She specializes in cognitive linguistics, pragmatics, English for Specific Purposes (ESP) and English for Academic Purposes (EAP). Varvara Sosedova also has a specialization in Economics from Moscow Aviation Institute, which lets her apply project management techniques in the teaching process.
