Incomplete pain management after surgery or in critically ill patients can lead to poor organ function, chronic pain, increased hospital stays, and poor quality of life. Nurses should have sufficient knowledge of pain management when confronted with patients who experience different degrees of pain. The results demonstrate a critically insufficient and heterogeneous level of knowledge and attitudes of nurses in the field of pain management, despite their clinical experience. The absence of significant associations with most demographic and occupational characteristics indicates the systemic nature of the identified deficits and the limited effectiveness of existing educational approaches. their key importance as a modifiable factor. These results highlight the need to develop and implement standardized, evidence-based educational strategies aimed at closing knowledge gaps and improving the quality of pain management in clinical practice.
