Abstract

The project aims to develop and analyze the automated plant irrigation system based on the Raspberry Pi board. The necessary data is obtained from several sensors, calibrated to normal values and then analyzed. Based on the designed logic algorithm, the smart system should water the plant based on the conditions of the external environment. Thus, the research is done on adaptive IoT control systems, including some wireless control tools. In the first stage, three main sensors are used: temperature, light intensity, and soil moisture, which play a crucial role in identifying the plant’s state. To control the water pump, the water level sensor is used respectively with a relay. After the implementation of these sensors, wireless real-time data monitoring is obtained using the host domain. Initial attempts at creating the logic are done in Python language. The main objective of the capstone project is the implementation of an accurate automated control system that waters the plant by analyzing the input values from different sensors, controlling the irrigation rate and water level in the pump thus giving a quick response in the created host domain website.
