Abstract

With the rapid development of technology and wireless communication, it is now possible to send a message from one vehicle to another. Vehicular Ad Hoc Network (VANET), considered as a decentralized type of Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET), forms a significant part in Intelligent Transportation Systems. For a better communication, VANET must comprise safety characteristics, which protects privacy of its authorized users. Despite all the suggested cryptographic methods, the system is still vulnerable to intruder attacks. Among all the security methods, Physical layer security using jamming technique is considered to be an effective way to degrade the message of the eavesdroppers for ensuring security. In this paper we discussed VANET network features and presented a method of self-cooperative jamming to protect VANET on physical layer. Jamming signal was generated and different scenarios for jam signal power were reviewed separately.
