| dc.description.abstract | A 9‑year‑old boy with primary EBV infection presented with abdominal pain, vomiting, fever, jaundice, and severe hepatic dysfunction. Initially misdiagnosed as acute gastroenteritis, subsequent imaging revealed acute non‑calculous cholecystitis (ACC). Conservative management led to full recovery, with no sequelae at 6‑ and 12‑month follow-ups. This case underscores the importance of early recognition of ACC as a rare but critical EBV complication in pediatric patients | |
