Abstract
Aim: To explore the experience, role, and practice of nurses in caring for adult patients with CHF receiving levosimendan. Methods: This study is based on a qualitative descriptive method and relies on the principles of naturalistic approach, relativism, and subjectivism. The methods were chosen to provide a direct and simple description of nurses’ experiences. Five key themes were identified: (1) Implementation of medical prescriptions and monitoring of patients' condition during levosimendan infusion, (2) Communication with patients and physicians, (3) Educational training of nurses and their role in educating patients, (4) Nursing competence and limitations of professional authority, (5) Psychological support for patients. Conclusion: Nurses play a key role in caring for patients with heart failure receiving levosimendan, participating in its administration, monitoring, and responding to side effects. They emphasize the importance of interprofessional communication, patient education, and continuous professional development to ensure safe and effective treatment.
