dc.description.abstract | Located in the South Bay region of Los Angeles, California, Torrance offers a comfortable living environment with safe neighborhoods and excellent schools. The city's proximity to beaches and major highways enhances its appeal, making it an ideal location for residents and professionals alike. Given the increasing number of visitors, there is a growing need for additional hotel accommodations. To address this, plans are underway to build an 11-story hotel at 16007 Crenshaw Boulevard. This hotel will feature a restaurant, gym, reception, and other amenities on the commercial first floor, while the remaining floors will house 140 apartments. Parking will be available outside the building. The project aims to cater to the rising tourist influx in the area. The dimensions of the proposed hotel are 15m x 50m x 37m. Detailed floor plans, elevation views, and other necessary designs have been meticulously prepared in accordance with local regulations and standards. From a structural perspective, the design focuses on seismic considerations, incorporating safety measures tailored to the building’s requirements. The foundation design is a key aspect of the geotechnical planning, backed by hand calculations and software modeling for site response analysis. Additionally, the environmental engineering efforts include compliance with legal standards and calculations of waste generation rates for various components. Project management aspects like scheduling and cost estimation have been carefully evaluated to ensure project feasibility. Furthermore, risk management strategies have been developed to mitigate potential challenges, ensuring the building’s resilience. | en_US |
