This capstone project consists of a short story called “There Is No Use Crying Over Spilt Milk” and its analysis. Both parts are dedicated to the exploration of methods of overcoming trauma through humor and irony. The creative writing part of the project is a story about a girl who experienced trauma and released the tension by means of comedy. The author utilizes the release theory of humor and the concept of the ordinary hero to demonstrate the universality of people's exposure to trauma and their habitual tendency to cancel out their sadness by making use of comedy as an alternative solution to the problem.en_US
