Abstract
The Automated Notification System for Document Expiration Management addresses the inefficiencies of manual document expiration tracking at Nazarbayev University. This web-based solution automates the monitoring of critical documents, such as contracts and certifications, ensuring timely notifications to stakeholders via email, Telegram, and in-app alerts. Built on a 3-tier architecture (React frontend, Java Spring Boot backend, PostgreSQL database), the system integrates with Google Calendar, implements role-based access control, and ensures compliance with Kazakhstan’s data protection laws. Developed over two semesters, the project included system design, implementation, and extensive testing, achieving 98% notification accuracy and high user satisfaction (85% rated “very user-friendly”). The solution reduces human errors, enhances operational efficiency, and mitigates risks of non-compliance, providing a scalable platform for future enhancements like mobile app support and AI-driven predictions.
