Abstract
The transition from higher education to the labor market is an important process for graduates. Since Kazakhstan gained independence in 1991 more and more ethnic Kazakhs living overseas have returned to study and live in their historical homeland, but their integration into the Kazakhstani labor market, particularly for young returnees, is not likely to be smooth. Although most studies have explored the cultural, social, and linguistic adaptation of returnee students, there is still a lack of in-depth understanding of the employment-seeking experiences of Chinese-Kazakh returnee graduates.
