| dc.description.abstract | Sweat is a colourless liquid excreted in the skin that contains mostly water. The presence of endogenous and exogenous substances in sweat permits feasible analysis of biomarkers of most cancers. Integrating the information of those substances as a panel of biomarkers it is possible to design precise biosensors. The biosensor will allow a self-check-up device that is non-invasive, wearable, rapid and flexible. By preparing artificial control sweat and artificial biomarkers containing sweat solutions, as well as analysis of their refractive index (RI), improvement of the biosensor is possible. The analysis of the sensitivity of the semi-distributed interferometer and titled fiber Bragg grating is done in order to identify the most promising biosensor. By analysing sensors’ activity during RI changes, biomarkers concentration changes, and temperature changes, the semi-distributed sensor was chosen. It exhibited a higher correlation with the changes and showed more reliable graphics due to a high R2 value. | en_US |
