Abstract

This essay examines the extent to which folklore was used by groups of elites in Ukraine and Czechia to establish national identities. It was seen as a useful tool as the process of collection of folklore is a careful selection of certain aspects of culture to establish a particular narrative that a prcolaimed nation existed for a long time.
