Abstract

Regeneration of injured articular cartilage is one of the most difficult problems in traumatology and orthopedics. Applied nowadays surgical methods that are aimed at stimulation of cartilage regeneration in damaged joint can not provide the complete treatment of complications. Thus, it is necessary to search for alternative therapy, such as autologous chondrocyte transplantation for articular cartilage regeneration, which has been successfully used abroad. The purpose of present study was to investigate the effect of synovium derived mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), chondroinductive growth factors and hyaluronic acid on regeneration of articular cartilage defect in rabbits.
