Juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) is a chronic inflammatory condition with potential autoimmune comorbidities, including celiac disease (CD). Recent studies suggest a higher prevalence of CD in patients with JIA compared to the general pediatric population. In this correspondence, the authors highlight the importance of routine screening for celiac disease among children diagnosed with JIA, even in the absence of classical gastrointestinal symptoms. They advocate for the inclusion of serologic testing, such as tissue transglutaminase IgA and total IgA levels, as part of baseline evaluations in JIA management protocols. Early detection of CD in this subgroup may lead to improved patient outcomes, prevent long-term complications, and inform dietary management strategies. The letter calls for broader awareness among pediatric rheumatologists and supports integrating CD screening into clinical guidelines for JIA.en
