The aim of this study was to identify independent predictors of mortality and postoperative complications following PCI and CABG procedures. A total of 306,895 patient records from the SNHD database for the period 2016 to 2020 were analyzed. Mortality, AKI, and POAF were selected as postoperative outcomes, while patient baseline characteristics (including age, sex, MI status, and the number of comorbidities) were used to assess associations with the selected complications. Based on the results of the multivariate logistic regression analysis, the lists of independent predictive factors were defined for each outcome following PCI and CABG procedures. The development of postoperative AKI was associated with renal failure, CHF, cardiac arrhythmia, hypertension, and valvular heart disease in both cohorts; specifically, pre-operative MI, diabetes for PCI, and older age for CABG. The association with POAF following PCI was observed in patients with cardiac arrhythmia, pre-operative MI, CHF, renal failure, older age, female sex, valvular heart disease, and hypertension. For the CABG procedure, cardiac arrhythmia, renal failure, valvular heart disease, and complicated hypertension were observed. Predictors of mortality included renal failure, CHF, cardiac arrhythmias, pre-operative MI, older age, female sex, peripheral vascular disorders, chronic pulmonary disease, diabetes, hypertension, and valvular heart disease.
