dc.description.abstract The objective of the Capstone Project is to study and implement the technique called Active Noise Control (ANC). The project aims to develop an effec- tive ANC system for biomedical appli- cations, namely Magnetic Resonance Imaging to reduce the noise levels generated during the imaging process. The project involved a combination of theoretical study, modeling and sim- ulation. The Benchmark ANC algo- rithms (Filtered x-Least Mean square (FxLMS), Filtered x-Normalized Least Mean square (FxNLMS) and Fil- tered x-Variable Step-Size Least Mean square (FxVSSLMS) ) were studied to further compare their effectiveness in terms of the steady-state performance, convergence rate and computational complexities based on the computer simulations. en_US
