Abstract:
Non Government Organisations (NGOs) play an important role in the development of
education through various projects and initiatives. In international contexts, NGOs have
worked to change societal attitudes towards disability, promoting a more inclusive and
accepting environment for all (Ulleberg, 2009). In Kazakhstan, the work of NGOs is limited
in the research literature but some research indicates that there are some NGOs that raise awareness about the importance of inclusive education and to create more inclusive
environments for children with disabilities (Koishibayev et al., 2019). The purpose of the
present study was to explore the role of NGOs in the development of inclusive education as how they feel they contribute to developing an inclusive society in Kazakhstan.
