Hardware- and Interference-Limited Cognitive IoT Relaying NOMA Networks With Imperfect SIC Over Generalized Non-Homogeneous Fading Channels

Abstract

This paper analyzes the performance of cooperative cognitive radio Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (CR-NOMA) enabled IoT networks operating over generalized α-µ fading channels, accounting for both hardware impairments and imperfect successive interference cancellation (SIC). It derives closed-form expressions for end-to-end outage probability (OP) using the Meijer’s G-function, under interference-limited regimes. The paper also presents asymptotic OP expressions, explores the impact of fading parameters α and µ, and validates the results via Monte Carlo simulations. The proposed CR-NOMA network exhibits superior outage performance compared to its orthogonal access counterpart.
