The impacts of different façade types on energy use in residential buildings

Abstract

This project investigated various façade types used in residential buildings in Kazakhstan and assessed their impact on energy consumption using energy simulation models. The study identified five main façade systems and found that buildings with clay brick and travertine façades were significantly more energy efficient than those with silica brick, aluminium composite panel, or decorated plaster façades due to their better thermal properties.,
