Abstract
Recently, perovskite has become the most perspective material for the solar energy industry, since there was a rapid increase in efficiency from 3% to 25.6%. This work is based on research of all-inorganic Cs based perovskite thin-film materials and their application in perovskite solar cells (PSCs).
The aim of the master’s thesis is to investigate properties of perovskite materials and the influence of incorporating an ionic liquid (IL) with various concentrations on materials and device performance. This work demonstrates an efficient way to produce perovskite thin films with optimized structure and morphology, high degradation resistance and good power conversion efficiency (PCE). ILs have influence on homogenous nucleation, therefore, they can facilitate charge transportation, energy levels adjustment, the crystal growth and the interface modification. Up to now various kinds of ILs were successfully used in the perovskite photovoltaics as charge transport layers, solvent, and additive engineering as well as surface engineering agents to fabricate highly efficient and stable PSCs.
Material and device investigations were charactarized to study the positive effect of IL on all-inorganic PSCs. The scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Ultraviolet-Visible (UV-vis) spectrometer, X-ray diffractometer (XRD) and confocal laser scanning microscopy provided the results of the morphology, structures, crystallinity, light absorption and fluorescence intensity of perovskite films which indicate the positive effect of incorporating IL in CsPbI2Br perovskite thin films. The solar simulator and photovoltaic aging system (PAS) characterized photovoltaic parameters of PSCs. The champion device was the IL-doped CsPbI2Br PSC with a PCE of 12.47% (VOC 1.20 V, JSC 14.86 mA/cm-2 and FF 73.48%). After aging test, the optimized device retained 53% of the initial PCE.
