dc.description.abstract This paper describes various types of locomotive cabins and then focuses its attention on the design of ceiling parts. It attempts to determine the most optimal internal design and materials (taking the cost-to-weight ratio into account) and demonstrates the process of modelling them in SolidWorks software in order to later pass them into mass production in territory of Kazakhstan. Also, two new lock designs were proposed to be tested. ANSYS and SolidWorks simulations (e.g. static, dynamic, vibration, temperature etc.) to ensure the structure’s durability and stability were performed and presented. Work package, all of the drawings of the parts and simulation files were attached in the appendix. en_US
