According to WHO about 800,000 people die by suicide annually and many more attempt it. The evidence shows that global burden of suicide lay heavily on low- and middle-income countries. In 2015, 78% of all known suicides occurred in these countries, and suicide accounted for 1.4% of all deaths worldwide, and ranked as 17th leading cause of death (WHO, 2013).
