The Concept aims to increase the share of renewable energy resources in energy profile to 3% by 2020, to 30% by 2030 and 50% by 2050. Implementing renewable energy sources has been a slow process despite its great potential. The current share of renewable energy is below 1%, as Kazakhstan faces impediments in its pursuit of reaching the targets.
